At Benton House of Tiffany Springs, we love animals so much that nine of our communities have house dogs, with more puppies set to arrive in the next year. We call it our Benton Doodle program. Our community was also the proud recipient of a national Innovation Award for a pilot program where we used specially trained dogs to detect COVID. Of course, these dogs have since been transitioned to traditional house dogs as testing has become readily available but the love and companionship that they offer to our residents is still an incredible resource.
While residents are encouraged to have pets, we do have some guidelines. There is a one-time fee for pets as we must replace carpets after apartment each transfer. Seniors in our community must also be able to care for their pets. Each pet in our community must be people-friendly and community-living appropriate in order for us to offer the ideal senior care experience. We do also have some size restrictions—sorry no elephants. Residents are permitted to have a variety of pets including dogs, cats, fish, and birds. The companionship offered by these animals is a blessing and most pets end up becoming community mascots by default.
