The Beacon Neighborhood

A particular point of pride within our community is the Beacon Neighborhood.

An area dedicated to serving those experiencing Alzheimer’s Disease or other memory loss. This bright, beautiful space offers assisted living within an innovative design that is open, homelike, and keypad protected.

Where residents enjoy the closeness of a community, but also have plenty of personal space. The neighborhood’s design is an important element of our care philosophy. Large enough to have a community feel, yet not so large that it feels overwhelming.

Our life approach is a special calendar that blends familiar routines with unique events. Which are all designed to celebrate ability, rather than focus on loss. What this means in practice is that residents experience daily life events like exercise, dining, and relaxation at roughly the same time every day. We then seek to weave in activities and events within those time periods. To make each day both familiar and fresh.

The Beacon Neighborhood also has a dedicated coordinator and increased staff ratios.

Personalized Support

Our care begins with taking the time to get to know our residents. Which provides us with the opportunity to welcome them into our family and to learn their needs.

Through this process, we develop a plan of care that is tailored to the needs of the residents. To ensure residents can enjoy as much independence as possible while receiving the care they need. Care services include:

• Dressing—Services can be as simple as helping with a hard-to-reach button, or as comprehensive as wardrobe selection and assistance with dressing
• Bathing—Our restrooms support independence and our services range from adjusting water settings to dignified personal assistance
• Grooming—To help residents look and feel their best, our services include areas important to self-esteem like hair, nail, and oral care
• Sensory Aids—We can help with the cleaning and maintenance of hearing aids, glasses, and other sensory support devices
